Comfort, Craftsmanship, and a Commitment to Homegrown Quality
In a world of fast fashion and fleeting trends, Liz Allen, founder of Elizabeth Cotton, has quietly built a brand rooted in intentional design, enduring quality, and the simple joy of comfort! Proudly made in New York City's historic Garment District, every Elizabeth Cotton pajama set, blanket, and travel bag reflects a philosophy of thoughtful, homegrown craftsmanship.
"I love making things— designing them, creating them, sending them out into the world to make people happy," said Allen, who has personally overseen the production of her luxury sleepwear brand for over 20 years. "Sleepwear, to me, embodies the intimacy of home. It is a purchase made with one intention: to keep yourself or someone you love comfortable."
Working exclusively with a trusted family-owned factory in Manhattan since 2005, Elizabeth Cotton has maintained an unwavering commitment to American manufacturing. Each piece is sewn with care using Oeko-Tex certified and organic cotton fabrics, sourced from small mills across Europe— from countries like Portugal, Germany, and Italy— all known for their natural fiber excellence.
"Our pajamas are built to last." Allen shared. "We've had customers come back 8 to 10 years later to replace their favorite sets. That kind of loyalty is everything."
Once sold through retailers like Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Fred, the brand made the shift to direct-to-consumer a decade ago, a move that allowed Allen to maintain domestic production while offering pricing that felt right for her customer base. Though bittersweet, the decision reaffirmed her dedication to quality over volume, to intimacy over scole.
Today, the Elizabeth Cotton collection has expanded to Include not only luxury cotton pajamas (starting at $198), but also cozy blankets, travel accessories, hand-illustrated cards, and journals. It's a quietly luxurious universe designed for those who value simplicity, sustainability, and the comfort of things made well. "Making products in the USA allows for an exceptional level of quality and workmanship," Allen reflected. "And I believe people feel that difference."
