#GivingTuesday
Mark your calendars: GivingTuesday 2016 is November 29th! Every order will ship for FREE and we will donate 20% of all proceeds to Razia's Ray of Hope.GivingTuesday is one of my favorite sales days of the year (and one of our busiest!), so if you can wait to shop until then please do. This will be our fourth year observing #GivingTuesday, and it should be one of our largest sales days of the year. In 2013 it was our largest sales day, & in 2014 and 2015 it was a close second.
Razia's Ray of Hope is a nonprofit organization that empowers young women and girls in Afghanistan through education. Their flagship project is the Zabuli Education Center, an all girls school that provides free education to over 550 students.

We have been in business for almost twelve years, and while I have enjoyed every minute of it there was a time a few years ago when I began to wonder what it would feel like to have a career that provided more social value. While still mulling over big changes I began selecting various causes to support through the year. Around Valentine's Day and Mother's Day we donate a portion of proceeds to Hamlin Fistula. We have also run "Back-to- School" sales where a portion of proceeds goes to a Global Giving project that supports education for women.
Running these sorts of events through the year gave me a way to find what I was looking for through a career that I already had! Judging by the number of sales that we do on #GivingTuesday our customers also really appreciate the opportunity to do their shopping on a meaningful day as well.
Thanks to #GivingTuesday both business owners and shoppers are able to ascribe meaning to something that they would be doing already. It is a wonderful "holiday" and we are grateful to be a part of it!
